Created in 1922, this seal appeared on the Gallery’s printed materials into the 1940s. It followed the name change from Art Museum of Toronto to Art Gallery of Toronto, which took place three years earlier.
In 1918, the Gallery held a design competition to replace its “seal of office.” None of the submissions were selected.
