I discovered The David Kopay Story: An extraordinary self-revelation when I was in high school and took a trip to the public library in Lethbridge, Alberta. I knew at that time that I was likely gay - I was wrestling with all the typical demons a young fundamentalist evangelical boy would having learned he was attracted to other boys. However, this book blew away any stereotypes I believed had to apply to me. Here was a man, a professional football player - a jock! - who had the courage to come out. And while I was still the artsy kid, I learned that all the sissy things that were supposed to be "gay" may or may not apply to me - or at least they did not have to.
This book is available in the James Fraser Library at the Canadian Lesbian and Gay Archives at 202 - 65 Wellesley St. E. www.clga.ca

Well said! Unfortunately I saw the movie first, so my mind still thinks that Robin Lee Graham looks like the actor Joseph Bottoms!
